Conveyancing

Conveyancing and the legal arrangements for becoming the owner of the property

This is the legal process by which ownership is transferred from the seller to the buyer.

This process includes the 'conclusion of missives' (the contract of sale), and the 'disposition' (transfer of ownership).

The contract specifies the date of the sale, when the keys are transferred to the new owner and when the money must be provided.

The buyer's solicitor will arrange for the money to be transferred, but it is up to the buyer to arrange for the money (whether it is coming from their own funds or as a loan from the bank) to be with their solicitors in time for this transaction.
