Rents
Rents in Glasgow vary considerably, depending on the quality and condition of the property, its size and its location. The following is a general guide (spring 2006) to what you might expect to pay for furnished accommodation:
- A single room in a shared flat - £200-£250 per month + share of bills
- A double bedroom in a shared flat - £250-£300 per month + share of bills
- A self-contained one bedroom flat - £300-£500 per month
- A two bedroom flat - £400-£750 per month
- A three bedroom flat - £550 per month upwards.
Tenants are generally liable to pay Council Tax on top of the above costs, although exemptions exist for certain groups.
