Adaptations required by people with disabilities to enable them to stay in their home are eligible for a minimum grant of 50% through the private sector grant scheme.
This could include a wide range of adaptations including the installation of:
- wider door openings
- over-bath showers
- step-in shower trays
- walk-in shower trays
- wet floor areas
- house extension
- major house alterations
- kitchen fitment renewals specifically designed for people with individual needs
Applications for grant funding for works that are specifically required for disabled occupants must be supported by an occupational therapist. An occupational therapist can be found in your nearest Community Health and Care Partnership Office.
