Central heating grants

There are three sources of grants for central heating systems:

  • Scottish Goverment  funding for new central heating systems for people aged 60 and over, or improved central heating for people aged 80 and over (see below)
  • Glasgow City Council's private sector grants cover the installation of central heating systems (see the private sector grants page for further details). However this is given a low priority and the excessive demand on funding available for private sector grants means that grant funding is rarely provided through this source.
  • Strathclyde and Central Energy Efficiency Advice Centres run a small fixed grant and interest free loan scheme for central heating on behalf of Glasgow City Council. These provide a fixed grant of £500 and an interest free loan. Phone 0141 552 0799.
