2 new pontoons are being installed by Glasgow City on the River Clyde at Water Row (Govan) and Yorkhill Quay, which add to the current pontoons located at Broomielaw & Plantation Quay. The new pontoons are provided to support the re-introduction of the Govan cross river Ferry to the new Riverside Museum and river ferries travelling from Greenock to the City Centre at Broomielaw Quay. Berthing for other types of craft will be considered on a case by case basis.
Benefits from the pontoon will include:
- An increase in the number of boats on the river
- The provision of improved facilities for existing users
- Encourage alternative means of transportation
- Provision of a prime facility for water-based activities.

It is hoped that with the introduction of this new pontoon we can regenerate interest in the Glasgow Harbour area and once again attract boats up the River Clyde to the City Centre.
