This document sets out the terms upon which Glasgow Museums Photo Library makes available any photographs. It is in addition to the Glasgow Museums’ website copyright terms stated above. In the event of any conflict between those copyright terms and this document, the copyright terms shall prevail where the customer orders via the website or otherwise makes use of website images.
The terms and conditions shall be governed by Scots law.
Warning: Any unauthorised use of the print extracts may result in both civil and criminal liability.
Conditions under which reproduction of images is permitted:
the reproduction must bear the credit: Glasgow City Council (Museums) along with the artist’s name and picture title or other relevant information as agreed
reproduction must be confined to agreed use
all rights are non-exclusive for the time period and print run agreed
no duplicate transparencies or copy negatives or prints shall be made without permission
the work must be reproduced in its entirety unless permission is requested and consent granted to reproduce a part only
transparencies must be returned within three months of receipt in good condition (in the event of loss or damage the hirer shall be responsible for a replacement fee of up to £226 per transparency)
a colour proof of the reproduction must be submitted to the Gallery prior to publication
one complimentary copy of the publication must be sent to the Photo Library immediately after publication.
Refund Policy
In the unlikely event of an item being faulty or arriving in anything less than perfect condition, please contact us and get instructions for return.
If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any other reason, you may return it to us within seven days for a refund. You must contact us before returning any item. Upon safe receipt of the package, we will arrange a refund.
For a full description of your consumer rights under UK Law, please visit the Office of Fair Trading website at www.oft.gov.uk . Your statutory rights are not affected.
If you wish to cancel your order, you may do so up to seven days after receipt of your goods. If you wish to cancel your order after receipt, you must contact us on 0141 287 2595 or email us photolibrary@cls.glasgow.gov.uk and we will give you instructions on how to repack the goods.
Prints are easily damaged and must be returned in good condition and at the customers cost. If they are carefully repacked there is no reason why they should get damaged and we will be happy to refund the purchase price in full on receipt of the returned items.
