Schools Work

 

 

 

  • Within the Calton & East Centre area there are 3 New Learning Communities (Secondary schools and their linked primary schools and nurseries), St. Mungo's, Smithycroft and Whitehill New Learning Communities.

 

  • Within each New Learning Community, Youth Services delivers many programmes, which aim to meet the personal, social and educational needs of individual pupils.  Youth Services work with individuals or groups of pupils in an informal manner, allowing young people to feel more confident and relaxed, to become more involved in the programmes, in turn making the overall school experience more positive.

 

  • Youth Services work in partnership with other organisations such as Careers Scotland and Health Promotion in delivering one off or short-term programmes within schools.

 

  • Youth Services work in partnership with individual schools in delivering PSE programmes such as Em-prove and Princes Trust XL programme.
