Lahore Pakistan
Memorandum of Understanding signed - 2004

Housing a population of 7.5 million, Lahore, provincial capital of Punjab, and Pakistan's largest city, is recognised as the commercial, cultural and academic centre of the country, combining as it does the life style of east and west.  The diversity and contrast of the different sections of Lahore make it the most interesting part of Pakistan.

In addition to being the marketing centre for the surrounding fertile agricultural area, Lahore accommodates some 20% of Pakistan's industrial producers, including textiles, rubber, iron and steel.  Handicrafts in silver and goldwork also feature.  In keeping with its reputation for enterprise, it dominates the production and export of software in Pakistan.  The city benefits from good links by air, rail and road with main centres in Pakistan and beyond, and has attracted the headquarters of many large newspaper groups and banks.
