Introduction

 

The Council decided its budget, including the setting of the council tax, for the coming year 2008/09, on Tuesday, 12 February 2008.

 

The Budget 2008/09 (PDF file, 104 KB) document sets out the agreed proposals.

 

Its aim is to inform city residents, businesses and community groups about the priorities and issues affecting the Council in the year ahead.

 

These proposals have been considered by the Budget Working Group of senior Councillors and take account of the Council’s objectives and the Scottish Govermnent's local government grant settlement.

 

The Council’s objectives continue to be focused on

 

  • Council Tax Stability
  • Social Services and Social Inclusion
  • Education
  • City Regeneration

The Council’s budget proposals reflect the ongoing need to meet the current financial position of the Council and address the real issues facing the city.
