Financial Year 2011/12

Under Government Legislation, Elected Members of Glasgow City Council are entitled to receive a remuneration package.  The package consists of salary, subsistence, reimbursement of hotel accommodation and travel expenses.  A ceiling applies to the rates for non-salary expenditure and are payable only on production of valid receipts.

The information below relates to the first, second and third quarters of the 2011/2012 financial year and includes salary rates, additional expenditure and Information Technology costs.

 

The Council is also required to provide adequate training for Elected Members to assist them in carrying out their role. A summary of training, development and conferences during the 2011/2012 financial year to date is also included.

 

Members' Remuneration

 

The cost of Councillors' salaries for quarters 1 to 3 of 2011/2012 was £1,275,473.25. A breakdown of this figure can be viewed via the Salaries & Positions link.
