Chief Executive Department Service Objectives
The Chief Executive Department has a trategic and service delivery role. Our strategic role is to lead and support the development, delivery and review of the Council's key objectives and commitments as outlined in the Council Plan. This includes shaping the Council's response to priorities such as Social Renewal and securing resources and initiatives for the city, such as the Commonwealth Games 2014. We often lead on key commitments, such as Community Planning and delivering Best Value and continuous improvement and modernisation of Council Services. In addition, we provide a range of corporate support to Services to ensure the delivery of Council commitments. This includes a policy, legal, human resources, and public relations advice and support. In addition we provide some services directly to the public, including the Registrar service.
Our vision defines the department’s purpose and is supported by five primary objectives. These help us to understand and share our overall focus, and to build a shared set of priorities against this.
Our vision is to drive exceptional service delivery across the Council by achieving a step change in the efficiency, innovation and accessibility of our strategic services over the next three years.
