Policy Planning & Strategy
In meeting the strategic aims of the Council, Financial Services aims to provide an accessible, accountable service which is effective and offers value for money.
Financial Services also supports the Council's key objectives in providing a sound financial management platform on which the corporate budget and service planning process is delivered.
This is underpinned by the Financial Regulations, Contract Standing Orders and the Financial Management and Control Code of Practice.
Financial Services actively supports the Council's policy agenda on key areas:
-
Flexible working arrangements are in place across the service, including part time and variable hours working and teleworking.
-
Staff Training, including service wide participation in Employee Development and Review.
-
The highest standards of conduct are expected from all employees in conjunction with the Council's Code of Conduct for Employees, Policy for the Control and Management of Absence and Policy for the use of Communications Resources.
-
Commitment to equality of opportunity is promoted in our communications and the services' action plans on disability and racial awareness.
- A departmental Health and Safety Policy is produced and promoted across the service through local health and safety committees and staff awareness training.
