
Planning and Policy Team
The Planning and Policy team is part of Performance, Standards and Strategic Management section in Social Work Services. Our principal function is to assist the Directorate and Senior Management to deliver their strategic objectives within the Council and with our external partners. Our specific responsibilities include the following areas:
Strategic Planning
Producing the 3 year Service Plan and annual updates
Producing statutory joint plans for Community Care, Children's Services and Criminal Justice Social Work
Developing internal and joint planning structures to deliver our statutory responsibilities
Developing internal strategic planning processes designed to enable the Directorate and Senior Management Team to deliver their strategic objectives
Develop Statements of Best Practice in Joint Working between Glasgow City Council and Social Housing Providers
Glasgow's Charter for Older People
- Improving the quality of life of Glasgow's older people
Corporate Policy
Contributing to the review of the Council's Key Objectives and production of the Council Plan
Contributing to the development of the Council's Equality Policy and internal implementation processes
Developing systems, structures and strategies to implement key policies including Community Planning and Community Health Partnerships
Supporting and developing the work of Council Committees and joint bodies
Policy and Equality
Developing strategies and action plans in relation to race, disability, gender and sexuality, including producing the Social Work Services Anti Racism Action Plan
Supporting the work of voluntary sector organisations
Developing the Equal Access to Employment Strategy
Producing the Policy Round-up
Managing the Glasgow Translation and Interpreting Service
Contributing to the development of national policy through consultation and networking
