Planning, Policy & Equality Team

The PPE team will support the delivery of the Service's strategic priorities and assist the three social work areas to meet their responsibilities for operational planning and service delivery.

The PPE team's core responsibilities can be summarised as follows:

• Producing the Social Work Service Plan and the annual updates
• Provide strategic planning support and make links to the wider planning agenda and structure within Community Care, Children's Services, and Criminal Justice
• Produce the Joint/Integrated services plan and annual reviews for submission to the Scottish Government (including the Joint Community Care Plan, Child and Family Services Plan, Criminal Justice Social Work Strategic Planand the SWS Budget and Service Plan)
• Develop the Social Work Services strategic equalities agenda and ensure implementation of the Integrated Equality Action Plan
• Provide support in the development of Departmental commissioning and funding strategies
• Act as a principal liaison between Social Work Centre and the three social work areas to ensure the wider planning agenda and the Department's priorities are implemented
• Provide strategic support and ensure links between Social Work Centre functions and Senior Management to improve the Department's Strategic management system
• Develop Statements of Best Practice in Joint Working between Glasgow City Council and Social Housing Providers
