Applications will be assessed during October through to January 2009 with recommendations for funding being made in March 2009. Applicants are assessed on the criteria and priories outlined within the application guidelines. The evaluation will take account of the applicant’s financial position.

It should be noted that due to the fiscal constraints within which the Council operates, there is a limited amount available each year and given the number and range of applications, the demand for grants always considerably exceeds the financial allocation for this type of award.

In 2008/2009 £1.68 million was awarded to 72 applicants. The available budget for 2009/2010 will be set in the next few weeks.
