Pay Up For Glasgow

Your Council Tax helps pay for schools, home helps, police, fire services, cleansing, parks and much more.

If you love your City then Pay Up for Glasgow - that is the message the Council is sending out with their updated publicity campaign to encourage citizens to pay their Council Tax. The new campaign will feature on radio, buses, underground and press adverts.

Council Tax pays for essential services including education, social work, cleansing, police and the fire brigade.

And there are several ways to pay – including by phone or by direct debit.

If you are having difficulty paying your Council Tax, for example if you have a low income, you are a pensioner, or members of your family are disabled then you may be entitled to benefits and reductions.

Most students are exempt from payment – but have to inform the Council of their student status to qualify.

To find out if you qualify for benefits or reductions, contact the Council Tax office on 0845 600 8040.
