We aim to select the most suitable person for each post on the basis of their relevant skills, knowledge, qualification and competence. We are an equal opportunities employer and make sure no applicant is unfairly treated on any grounds.
To do this we use a competency-based approach to recruitment. Using Role Profiles, Person Specifications and Competency Based Interviews, you’ll be expected to provide evidence of how your skills, knowledge, qualifications and competence meet the requirements of the post:
Role Profile:
- Gives a general overview of the post along with the skills, knowledge, qualifications and competency requirements.
Person Specification:
- Gives the specific requirements of the post.
- Shows what applicants need to have (the essential criteria) and what would be good to have (the desirable criteria) in line with the competency requirements of the post.
- The selection panel will use to short-list and shows where they’ll get evidence of the applicants competence.
Competency Based Interview:
- Applicants will be asked questions to gain evidence of their competence for each competency. e.g. “Tell me about a time where you handled a difficult customer, what happened and what was the outcome?”
