Appointments to the Children's Panel

Information on how Panel members are appointed.

Panel members are appointed by the Scottish Ministers, initially for three years.  They can subsequently be re-appointed for a further period of up to three years.

Recommendations for appointment and re-appointment are made to the Scottish Ministers by the Glasgow Children’s Panel Advisory Committee (CPAC).  No academic qualifications are necessary nor is a knowledge of the Hearing System as full training is given.  The CPAC is anxious to attract people from a wide variety of backgrounds who have an interest in children and their welfare

The selection process consists of a small literacy task, group discussion and interview and it is envisaged that the session will last around two hours.
