They are then required to attend Stages 2 and 3 of the Induction Course, which consist of a further 3 days of compulsory training and is usually undertaken during the first 12 months of service.

Serving panel members are required to attend in-service training.  In addition to training delivery in 6 Core subjects, meetings of the area panel are held regularly and members are expected to attend these and to benefit from the exchange of views and experience.

During the course of a 3 year appointment, excluding the year of initial appointment, members are required to meet a minimum attendance at training in each calendar year.

Members failing to attend the minimum of training of 2 Core Training events and 2 additional events per calendar year are unlikely to be re-appointed.
