Equalities

Glasgow City Council values diversity and realises the benefits of having a workforce that reflects the community we serve.  The term 'diversity' refers to the fact that we are all different.  Having a diverse workforce improves our work.  It makes sure that we draw from the widest pool of talent and that we relate better to the community we serve.  By eliminating discrimination it means that we attract and retain the very best workforce.

We actively encourage applications from disabled people and have signed up to the 'double tick' initiative.  We're committed to interviewing all applicants who tell us they have a disability and who meet the minimum criteria for the job.

As part of the Councils' committment to equality in employment we regularly monitor our Recruitment Policy and the overall diversity of our workforce.

We welcome applications from Groups which are under-represented within the Council.  Applications can be submitted in Braille, audio tape, disc, Chinese, Urdu, Punjabi etc.  Disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a post are guaranteed an interview.Further details are available from contact number detailed at the end of each vacancy.
