Development Opportunities

 

The Council has also developed a range of training schemes, work placements and employment initiatives designed to improve job prospects, which include:

 

  • Working Life programme provides training over a 13 week period which gives mothers and others returning to work, experience of clerical/administrative duties. Childcare costs are met and placement can lead to a vocational qualification. 
  • Work Placements for Young People -  paid training placements for ethnic groups including student summer placements; general work experiences; school placements; youth programme.
