Margaret Connelly is a Member of the Growing Old Disgracefully Network (GOD) and has some interesting hobbies other than computers. She finds that using computers helps her maintain mental alertness and the staff at Govanhill Library say she takes the lead in group activities and helps other around her.

John Mathieson who told us on his application he is 80+ first used a computer in the Shettleston Health Promotion Centre. He surfed the Internet for information on chess with a view to forming a chess club. He keeps in touch with his niece in Australia by email but finds that since he can’t get a shot of his grandson’s PC he has to go to the library.
