The Jeely Piece Club
Running for 27 years in Castlemilk, the Jeely Piece Club more recently created a Cyber Space adjoining the community café where children and adults have access to computers. They were nervous of getting into computers and wage-shared to get the skills needed. Now they are working towards becoming a Learn Direct (Scotland) Centre

The Forum for Africans in Scotland
Highly Commended in this group is the Forum for Africans in Scotland, (merging into the African Network)
The aim of the network is to support Africans living in Scotland and particularly those who are refugees and asylum seekers. Chriss Majwega who made the application opened up email addresses for others and taught them how to keep in touch with family and search the Internet for news about their countries and for job opportunities here. |
