On 11th June 2004 in New York City, Glasgow was named Intelligent Community of the Year 2004.
Since receiving the award Glasgow City Council together with Scottish Enterprise Glasgow and other partner organisations have established Glasgow's e-City Index scores. The Index benchmarks the current position and acts as a starting point for the next stage of our development as an e-City.
On November 24th 2004, "Aspirational City of the Future - Digital Glasgow" was held at the Glasgow Science Centre. The results from the e-City Index were announced and a series of workshops were held to explore our aspirations for the future and the actions required to deliver these.
