"Enabling a 21st Century City" outlines the Council's strategic approach to the technologies required to deliver the Access Glasgow objectives.

The document describes our cohesive, corporate approach to technology, enabling integration across the Council and beyond its boundaries, underpinning the delivery of modern public services which meet the needs and requirements of the citizen and all who use the City’s services and facilities.

Key elements of the strategic approach are:

  • Adherence to the e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF) promoting integration across the Council and the wider public sector
  • Corporate Governance of the approach to technology delivering Best Value ICT services to the Council
  • A programme of Research and Service Development ensuring that technologies and service models are appropriate to the Council’s need
  • A robust Security Infrastructure protecting information assets of the Council and those it serves
  • A sound Project Management Methodology monitoring and controlling programmes of work
  • Managed Test Environment ensuring the deployment of robust, high quality ICT solutions.
  • Enterprise Management proactively monitoring ICT service provision allied to an effective Disaster Recovery plan safeguarding essential operations
