1. Where a property is wholly or partly occupied by full-time students, Council Tax Exemption or Discount can be given.
  In order to determine entitlement to this, we require proof of status for each student or non EU spouse or dependant of a student living in the property.
2. The proof required depends on the type of property you are residing in and which college/university you are attending.
3. Are you living in a Halls of Residence?

5. Students residing in a Halls of Residence will automatically receive Council Tax Exemption and do not need to complete this form. you can find out more on our Council Tax for students page.
6. There is no need to supply proof of student status for students studying at:
  
  Glasgow Caledonian University
  Glasgow Clyde College
  City of Glasgow College
  
  Kelvin College
  Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
  Glasgow International College
  
  These colleges and universities will automatically send us proof of your student status.
8. Is everyone in this property a student at one of the above educational establishments?

  University of the West of Scotland
  
  Glasgow School of Art
  
  your college or university can supply us proof electronically but you will have to register with your student services first.
  
  University of Glasgow students can opt in through the MyGlasgow facility.
  University of Strathclyde students can opt in through the Pegasus facility.
  University of the West of Scotland students can opt in through their registration facility.
  Glasgow School of Art students should contact the registry to ensure that their details are registered and will be passed to the Council.
  Note: you may have already registered as part of your initial registration in which case no further registration is required.
  Alternatively, you can download and print a copy of our Proof of Student Status form and have your student services complete this. You can then upload this form as part of your application.
2. For students studying at all other colleges or universities, you must download and print a copy of our proof of student status form and have your student services complete this. You can then upload this form as part of your application.
3. If any students living in the property also have a spouse or dependant living with them who are non-EU citizens, they can also be exempt from Council Tax where they have no right to work or claim public funds in the UK. A copy of the photographic page of their passport and their visa showing that they have no right to work or claim public funds must be supplied.
