World Green Building Week
A World Green Building Week event is to be held in Scotland for the first time this month (September 2011).
Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), Architecture+Design Scotland and Buro Happold are coming together to inspire debate and collaboration among the Scottish building design community.
A free seminar and networking event - Environmental Modelling for a Low Carbon Scotland - will consider solutions to key green building challenges.
The evening will commence with a drinks reception and a presentation from Buro Happold on the role of energy and environmental modelling in delivering greener buildings, including insights into a number of Scottish projects including the new Glasgow Riverside Museum and the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.
This will be followed by interactive networking with an opportunity to expand on the key challenges for the industry.
The event will take place at The Lighthouse in Glasgow, Scotland's national centre for architecture and design.
World Green Building Week is held annually to highlight the importance of sustainable buildings for businesses, communities and individuals across the world. This year it takes place from 19-23 September.
Environmental Modelling for a Low Carbon Scotland will take place on Monday 19 September from 6pm to 8pm at The Lighthouse, Mitchell Lane, Glasgow G1 3NU. Limited places are available. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your details and you will receive confirmation from the organisers.
