Energy use

There are lots of things you can do to save energy - and with financial incentives from the government, there are real opportunities to generate your own power.

  • The Energy Saving Trust has advice centres in Scotland which can help you reduce your energy waste and your energy bills. Advisors give impartial energy efficiency advice to householders, community groups, businesses and the public sector. They can also help you access funding and other energy efficiency offers. To find your nearest Energy Saving Scotland advice centre, call 0808 808 2282 during office hours.
  • To keep heat in and reduce your fuel bills, find out how to insulate your roof, floors, walls and windows.
  • You can also generate your own energy with home renewables - including solar panels and biomass boilers. A range of government financial incentives are available, including the UK Government Renewable Heat Incentive.
