Carers Reference Group

The Carers Reference Group was established in 2012 to represent the views of carers city wide and influence the development of Carers policy, service planning and delivery.

Supporting carers is a key priority at a local and national level. Glasgow City Council recognises that carers play a critical role in the provision of care in the community and as such are acknowledged and supported as key partners in the delivery of health and social care.

There are estimated to be 55,392 carers in Glasgow as per 2001 Census.

The Welfare Rights team has produced a presentation on powerpoint icon Welfare Reform for Carers [126kb].
