The Visual Impairment Inclusion Support Service (VIISS) is based at Hazelwood School. The team work together with other schools, services and NHS partners to support visually impaired children and young people across the city. Teachers are trained in the area of visual impairment and work with pre-school children in the home or nursery and with pupils in primary and secondary schools.
Most children and young people in Glasgow who have a visual impairment will attend their local mainstream school.
