House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) Process

An application for a HMO license should be submitted to the Licensing Section of Glasgow City Council. 

Upon receipt of a valid HMO licence application the property will be jointly inspected by the HMO Unit (Development and Regeneration Services) and the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service.

You may be asked to undertake work to the property to ensure it meets the required standard for a HMO license and submit safety certification.

Your application will be determined within one year of submission and if granted will be for a period of up to three years.
