North Toryglen greenspace consultation

Published Tuesday 14 August 2018

A public consultation on the future of greenspace at North Toryglen is being held between 12:00-6:00pm, Friday 17 August at Toryglen Community Hall, 199 Prospecthill Circus.

The North Toryglen Transformational Regeneration Area (TRA) was officially activated in February 2013. Since then, great progress has been made in the provision of new-build housing for rent and sale in and around Prospecthill Circus.

The TRA boundary extends far beyond the housing sites and takes in land to Viridor and Jessie Street, the SUDS Ponds, Malls Mire woodland and the grassed area to Prospecthill Crescent.

Additionally, there is Toryglen Park between Prospecthill Circus and Aitkenhead Road and for the most part, this greenspace is of poor quality.

To complement the new housing, the council and interested partners want to see these greenspaces improved to benefit current and future residents.

The public consultation event is being held in the Toryglen Community Centre, 199 Prospecthill Circus between 12 noon and 6.00pm to gather people's views and identify what improvements people would like to see made to the open space environment there.
