Duration:                   Temporary, Initially for a period of up to 1 year (Subject to 13 weekly reviews)

Core Pay:                   Unqualified - £28,321.88 - £33,260.85 per annum (Pro-Rata)
                                  Qualified - £34,842.86 - £40,977.98 per annum (Pro-Rata)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Interpreter working within the Glasgow City Council Linguistic Service area of the business where you will report to the Senior Linguistics Co-ordinator.

Glasgow City Council Linguistics is an established interpreting service that offers face-to-face interpreting, telephone interpreting, document translation, interpreter training and more. As an Interpreter, you will be the first point of contact for customers requiring a translation service.

Languages we are currently recruiting for are, Vietnamese, Oromo, Pushto, Kurdish (Kurmanji) and Kurdish (Sorani). Please note, only applications for these languages will be considered.

Applicants must be fluent in the language, have good listening and communication skills coupled with the ability to then reproduce statements, questions and speeches in the different 'target' language.

Experience of providing translation services is an advantage. Possession of a full UK Driving Licence is desirable but not essential.
