Best Bar None

The 'Best Bar None' (BBN) Awards initiative was developed in December 2005 to target alcohol-fuelled violence, disorder and antisocial behaviour.

Administered in Glasgow on behalf of the Glasgow Alcohol and Drugs Partnership (ADP), we work closely with licensed premises across the city, Police Scotland, Glasgow City Council's Licensing Department and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to deliver the initiative.

The initiative was initially launched in Glasgow as a pilot scheme but is now promoted across Scotland, proving increasingly popular as a way for licensees to demonstrate their commitment to public safety. The national initiative Best Bar None Scotland is administered by the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) and is sponsored nationally by a number of key leaders in the drinks industry.

BBN ensures that all premises have initiatives and procedures in place to improve community safety, encourage responsible drinking, and reduce alcohol related antisocial behaviour and crime. All BBN premises door staff are fully SIA licensed and trained in all aspects of customer safety including how to get customers home safely.

BBN Glasgow has produced several short safety films and you can watch these video's created by the Best Bar None Glasgow initiative by visiting the dedicated website.
