Glasgow City Council

Glasgow Operations Centre

The Glasgow Operation Centre (GOC) is home to Glasgow City Council's Public Space CCTV monitoring services , our Security ServicesPartnership Intelligence Unit and Traffic Control Centre.

We manage over 420 public space cameras which includes mobile and fixed cameras across the city.

As well as supporting the council's priority planning and services, the GOC also supports partnership working with agencies including Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and the Clean Glasgow Initiative.

The key objectives of the GOC are to:

  • Enhance management of events and incidents
  • Reduce and prevent crime and antisocial behaviour
  • Improve incident response times
  • Embed more intelligent working practices with all key partners
  • Tackle Environmental incivility

The GOC also plays a vital role in public safety. Its CCTV function supports the Nitezone Marshalled Taxi Ranks service that operates in the city centre; it also acts as the communication hub for both the Night and Retail Digital Networks. You can find out more on these initiatives by visiting our City Centre Services page
