Public Space CCTV

Public Space CCTV is pivotal in supporting the partnership between Glasgow City Council and Police Scotland by providing essential evidence for prosecution of offenders and a 24/7 real time monitoring service, with retrospective viewing capabilities. The innovative and pro-active use of CCTV identifies and tackles criminality and provides a wider public reassurance role in Glasgow.

The primary objectives of PSCCTV are:

To help with the reduction or negation of criminal activity within the areas covered by the CCTV provisions

  • To help with the increased apprehension and prosecution of offenders
  • Risk management and tackling environmental concerns
  • Increase in public safety and public reassurance
  • Reduction in the fear of crime
  • Increase of and compliment partnership working
  • To assist in Traffic Management where applicable (partnership working)
