Glasgow City Council propose to carry out a licensable marine activity on the River Clyde between Water Row, Govan and Pointhouse Quay, Partick Glasgow (NS555659).
Works are currently scheduled to start in 2021 and run for 70 weeks.
The activity consists of the construction of the Govan Partick Opening Bridge spanning the River Clyde between Water Row, Govan and Pointhouse Quay, Partick, Glasgow, the construction of an associated Pointhouse Quay Extension (north bridge landing), Partick and the construction of an associated south bridge abutment/landing at Water Row, Govan.
The pedestrian and cycle bridge will re-establish the historical links between Govan and Partick.
The bridge will form an important link between communities, visitor attractions and institutions of national economic significance. It will form part of an active travel route connecting the University of Glasgow Gilmorehill Campus with the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
A pre-application consultation event will be held by Glasgow City Council at 2pm to 4pm on Friday 26 June 2020. Due to the current restrictions on movement and requirements to ensure physical distancing the consultation will be hosted using the online consultation platform.
Copies of the proposed bridge scheme are available in the right-hand column under related documents.
