This has come as the result of many years of hard work from the dedicated staff and volunteers, past and present, in both acute and community settings. Council believes that this work has helped to encourage increasing numbers of women to start and continue to breastfeed their babies but acknowledges that more work still remains to be done to promote and support breastfeeding in Scotland in the future. Council agrees to do all in its power, through Council departments and ALEOs, to promote and support breastfeeding and the principles of the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative." Help Icon
