Entries for the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run are open. With a city centre start and finish, the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run is a celebration of everything that makes Glasgow truly great: inspiring urban architecture, green spaces, history, music, strength, spirit and, of course, great people, personality and humour.  Thousands of runners take part each year to challenge themselves and to raise money for good causes. And Scotland's friendliest city always delivers on the support front too, with crowds of locals turning out each year to cheer and high-five from beginning to end. Plus there's medals, finisher t-shirts and bragging rights for all!

HOPE WALK is taking place on World Mental Health day, it is also the 10th anniversary since Papyrus started doing these walks. HOPE WALK is aimed at raising awareness of Papyrus and our presence here in Scotland, promoting our HOPE LINE 247 service, breaking the stigma surrounding suicide and a chance for anyone who has been affected by suicide to come together.

The main Remembrance service takes place in George Square at 11am and will end at 11.45am with service will be held at the Centotaph with a wreath laying ceremony and then march past and salute the front of the City Chambers.

Cardonald Cemetery

In Cardonald Cemetery, the CWGC commemorate 198 service personnel that served and died during the Second World War. In addition to the Commonwealth service personnel's war graves, this cemetery also contains New Zealand, German, Polish, Norwegian, Dutch, and Italian War Graves.

Join us on a tour to learn more about the work and history of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission as well as those individuals we care for at Cardonald.

There will be two tours on the day. Tour 1 is from 11am to 12.15 pm and Tour 2 will take place from 1pm to 2.15 pm.

MEETING POINT: Cross of Sacrifice, close to the main gate of the cemetery.

The cemetery is built on a gradual slope upwards from the entrance, with most of the walking route on pathways. However, their maybe times where those on tour would be required to venture onto the more grassy areas.

There are no toilet facilities on site.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring a water bottle with you if needed. We will not be able to provide refreshments.
