House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) Process

An application for a HMO license should be submitted to the Licensing Section of Glasgow City Council. 

Upon receipt of a valid HMO licence application the property will be jointly inspected by the council's HMO Unit and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

You may be asked to undertake work to the property to ensure it meets the required standard for a HMO license and submit safety certification.

Your application will be determined within one year of submission and if granted will be for a period of up to three years.
