GIRFEC Practice Guidance for Professionals
This guidance is for staff and agencies that deliver services for children in Glasgow.
It is also relevant to practitioners in adult services who work with parents or carers for example, those working in adult mental health, community addictions teams and adult learning disability teams.

This new approach does not change the way you would report child protection concerns.
Who will be the Named Person?
- For Pre-school children it will be a Health Visitor
- For school age children it will be a Teacher
School age children is defined at children aged 5 to 18, or older if still at school.
