Candidates for Garscadden-Scotstounhill by-election confirmed

Six candidates have been confirmed for the by-election in the Glasgow City Council Garscadden-Scotstounhill ward on October 6, 2016.

The candidates are (in alphabetical order):

- Ian Cruickshank, Scottish Labour Party

- Chris Cunningham, Scottish National Party

- Ary Jaff, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

- Gillian Frances MacDonald, Scottish Green Party

- Donald Murdo Mackay, UKIP

- James Douglas Speirs, Scottish Liberal Democrats.

The election count will take place at Scotstoun Sports Campus, Glasgow Club, 112 Danes Drive, Glasgow from 10pm on October 6, 2016.

The by-election follows the death of Councillor John Kelly, who served the ward following his election in 2012.
