Glasgow City Council

Apply for Social Housing

What is it?

In 2003, Glasgow City Council transferred all its housing stock to Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) and therefore no longer has any Social Housing Stock or holds a waiting list.

There are a number of Housing Associations operating in the city, including GHA, and each would need to be contacted directly to apply for Social Housing.

The Glasgow Housing Register is still in its development stage and will be piloted in the Northwest of the City.  Once live, the Glasgow Housing Register (GHR) will allow you to complete a single form to apply for multiple Housing Associations.  We currently expect GHR to be live by Spring 2017.

If you are homeless, the Community Casework Teams may be able to advise you, for more information please visit here.
