Exchange between Glasgow School of Sport (GSOS) and the Liaoning Table tennis and Badminton Management Centre in Dalian

Dalian 1

Following a visit to Dalian in 2008 by the then Lord Provost, Councillor Bob Winter, discussions began between the Glasgow School of Sport and the Liaoning Table tennis and Badminton Management Centre in Dalian to bring a coach from Dalian to Glasgow to work with talented young players from the Glasgow School of Sport. GSOS welcomed Coach Qinghua Song to Glasgow in September 2011 for a two week visit. Following this visit, a group of players and coaching staff from GSOS travelled to Dalian in September 2014 for two weeks of intensive coaching in the Liaoning Table tennis and Badminton Management Centre. They also enjoyed learning about Chinese culture from their young Chinese hosts. The next stage of the partnership will involve Glasgow School of Sport hosting players and staff from the Liaoning Table tennis and Badminton Management Centre.
