Glasgow's Lord Provost and Leader send messages of condolence to Mayor of Barcelona and Mayoress of Cambrils

Glasgow's Lord Provost and Leader have sent joint messages of condolence from the city of Glasgow to the Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau and the Mayoress of Cambrils, Lina Morales Serra following the attacks in Spain.

They wrote: "On behalf of the citizens of Glasgow, we send a message of sympathy and solidarity to the people of Barcelona and Cambrils. Glasgow shares your sorrow at the senseless loss of life and the dreadful injuries inflicted on innocent people. Our thoughts and prayers go to those who have lost loved ones and those whose lives have been irrevocably changed. We also send our gratitude and admiration to everyone involved in the rescue and recovery operations including all the emergency services.

"The people of Spain are resilient and proud. We know your citizens will stand strong together over the days and months that follow.
