You are giving us your personal information to allow us to register you for training being delivered by Landlord Accreditation Scotland (LAS), and for you to be contacted by LAS in order for you to receive training and manage your training and booking(s).
We also use your information to verify your identity where required, contact you by post, email or telephone and to maintain our records as part of our role in supporting Registered Private Landlords.

Processing your personal information is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest by the council as part of our service to support Private Landlords and for LAS to arrange the aforementioned training for you.
Also in compliance with our legal obligations to regulate Private Landlords to which the council is subject and on the basis of your consent to process your data for the purposes of receiving the aforementioned training from LAS.
If you do not provide us with the information we have asked for then LAS will not be able to provide this service to you.
We are legally obliged to safeguard public funds so we are required to verify and check your details internally for fraud prevention. We may share this information with other public bodies (and also receive information from these other bodies) for fraud checking purposes.
We are also legally obliged to share certain data with other public bodies, such as HMRC and will do so where the law requires this. We will also generally comply with requests for specific information from other regulatory and law enforcement bodies where this is necessary and appropriate.
The data captured on this form will only be shared with LAS who will use it to verify your registration as a Private Landlord and to contact you about the necessary arrangements e,g times and venue to receive the aforementioned training.
We only keep your personal information for the minimum period amount of time necessary. Sometimes this time period is set out in the law, but in most cases it is based on the business need. We maintain a records retention and disposal schedule which sets out how long we hold different types of information for.

For the purposes of this application to receive your training, we will only keep your personal information on our systems for up to 4 weeks after the final training session has ended. After that, all application records including any spreadsheet will be deleted.
