Venue closures and impacts

There will be number of impacts on venues during the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.

Cathkin Braes

During the Championships, Mountain Bike Events will be held at Cathkin Braes. The Ardencraig Road car park will have access restrictions from 08:00 on 11 July 2018 until 18 July 2018 in preparation and use for these events. Access via the path network will remain open on these days along with the rest of the park for visitors and spectators.

Strathclyde Country Park

Rowing and Triathlon events will be held at Strathclyde Country Park during the Championships between 2-5 August and 9-12 August. Changes to park facilities will be in place from 9 July to 19 July for event set up and clearance.

Glasgow BMX Centre, Knightswood

The BMX events for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships will take place at the brand new purpose-built arena, located in the Knightswoood area from 10-11 August. There will be no parking available to spectators on these days. All ticket holders are advised not to bring their cars to the venue and use public transport to get to the venue.

There is a no parking zone on Lincoln Avenue, Archerhill Road, and Waldemar Road.  These roads will be coned to prevent parking.

Glasgow Club Closures

Some of the sports involved in the Glasgow 2018 European Championships will be hosted within Glasgow Life venues. Unfortunately this will mean some closures and restrictions for customers in the coming months.
