Alarm Receiving Centre

Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Services

Our CAT II ARC is fully accredited, having achieved Quality Assurance ISO 9001, BS 5979 and BS 8484 certificates, as well as NSI Gold Accreditation. The ARC also holds membership to the BSIA (British Security Industry Association), for delivery of Security Systems. All ARC Monitoring Officers have been security screened to BS 7858, covering a period of five years employment history, criminality and financial checks.

Property Alarms

We currently monitor property alarms for various properties within the Council Family, the Scottish Police Authority, Scottish Fire and Rescue Services full portfolio and various commercial customers. These alarms include life alarms (like fire and personal attack), as well as intruder, building management and lift alarms. All are monitored via an industry leading alarm handling software platform called Sentinel Plus.

Lone Worker Alarms

The ARC can also provide a monitoring service for various Lone Worker devices, ensuring a quick response from our Monitoring Officers who will follow the agreed action plan when an alarm is received. We currently monitor Lone Worker devices for our staff, and other members of the Council family.

GPS Tracking Devices

The ARC, in partnership with HSCP Elderly Care, introduced a GPS Service for their clients (Users) who have been diagnosed with forms of dementia and risk assessed as being vulnerable. Our Monitoring Officers will quickly respond to alerts that report that the user has gone out of their safe zone (Geo Fence) or an alarm from the personal attack push button (Red Alert) activated by the user. Actions available to our Monitoring Officers include passing information to listed responders, tracking and locating the device utilizing the GPS function and passing information to our colleagues in the Public Space CCTV Control Room (GOC) who can bring up a camera in the reported location to quickly verify if the user is safe. This Service not only keeps vulnerable people safe, it allows them to stay in their homes and communities and provides peace of mind for their families who also have access to a Web Portal allowing then to view the device location and see that their loved one is safe and at home.

CCTV On Alarm

We provide CCTV Monitoring for the protection and security of our staff and property, CCTV on Alarm only becomes active when premises are closed. The CCTV system will send alarms to the ARC if intrusion at the remote site is detected alerting our Monitoring Officers, who will review the alarm, check live CCTV images and take the appropriate action.

Additional Monitoring Services include:

  • Void Property Alarms
  • Access Control
  • Remote Set / Unset
