What is the Advanced Payment Scheme?

The Advanced Payment scheme allows us to pay money to people who were subject to child abuse whilst in care in Scotland before December 2004 and who have a terminal illness or are aged 68 or over.

The Scheme opened on 25th April 2019.  You can apply to the scheme if you were abused as a child in care in Scotland before December 2004 and you either have a terminal illness or are aged 70 or over.

For confirmation that you were looked after and accommodated as a child, please email Senior Archivist Irene O'Brien (Irene.O'brien@glasgowlife.org.uk) and the Archives department (Archives@glasgowlife.org.uk).

When emailing them, you should provide your full name, date of birth, details of any brothers or sisters you have (their names and dates of birth) and any details you have regarding your time in care (for example where you were accommodated, the names of any institutions etc).
