Pollok: Braidcraft Road

UPDATE (SEPTEMBER 2021):

Following an independent review in September 2021 which considered whether long-term sustainability and active travel benefits could be realised by retaining measures - all Spaces for People cycle lanes, including the one noted below will become permanent.

Measure(s): 

Braidcraft Rd between Levernside Road and Corkerhill Road:

Installation of a soft segregated cycle route, relining works and built out footway areas at 7 bus stops on the north section. 

Braidcraft Rd between Peat Road to Corkerhill Road: 

Implement a Bus, Cycle & Taxi Lane 

Braidcraft Rd cycle lanes

Purpose:

 To facilitate physical distancing and enable alternative travel / active travel options.

Detail:

Convert existing nearside vehicular lane into segregated cycle lanes on Braidcraft Road and install soft segregation using Zicla Zebra. Proposal is to install a 100mm wide white line and place product directly at the line to maximise usable cycle lane width on the north section.

Between Corkerhill Rd and Peat Rd the nearside lane will be converted in both directions to a bus, cycle and taxi lane.
