UPDATE (SEPTEMBER 2021):
Following an independent review in September 2021 which considered whether long-term sustainability and active travel benefits could be realised by retaining measures - all Spaces for People cycle lanes, including the one noted below will become permanent.
Project Starting Soon:
Spaces for People: Braidcraft Road Temporary Cycle Route
Ward 03 Greater Pollok
Braidcraft Road (both directions):
1) Levernside Rd - Corkerhill Rd
2) Corkerhill Rd - Peat Rd
Expected Work Start Date:
8th March 2021
Expected Work Completion Date:
29th March 2021
Braidcraft Rd between Levernside Road and Corkerhill Road:
Installation of a soft segregated cycle route, relining works and built out footway areas at 7 bus stops on the north section.
Braidcraft Rd between Peat Road to Corkerhill Road:
Implement a Bus, Cycle & Taxi Lane
To facilitate physical distancing and enable alternative travel / active travel options.
Convert existing nearside vehicular lane into segregated cycle lanes on Braidcraft Road and install soft segregation using Zicla Zebra. Proposal is to install a 100mm wide white line and place product directly at the line to maximise usable cycle lane width on the north section.
Between Corkerhill Rd and Peat Rd the nearside lane will be converted in both directions to a bus, cycle and taxi lane.
