The Scottish Local Government Elections (council election) is due to take place on Thursday 5 May 2022.
You can vote in this election if you are registered to vote in Scotland and will be aged 16 or over on Thursday 5 May 2022. You must also be either:

In Person: If you are registered to vote you will automatically vote in person at the polling place on the day of the election unless you have applied to vote by post or proxy.
Polling Stations will be open and following all public health advice with appropriate hygiene and physical distancing measures in place.

The deadlines to apply for a proxy or postal have now passed however if you found out after 5pm Tuesday 26 April that you are unable to attend the polling station you can apply for an emergency proxy for one of the following reasons:
Applications can be made until 5pm on the day of the election, Thursday 5 May 2022.
